Everest Base Camp Trek 2025
Himalaja Base Camp Trek 1 – 25 toukokuuta 2025
Through my partners, I organize the Himalaya Base Camp Trek and the opportunity to climb the mountains to the amazingly beautiful Island Peak. Two great opportunities during the same excursion. The mountain trek to Everest Base Camp at an altitude of 5350 m is led by a Sherpa in a 2-3 week mountain trek, of which 2 weeks are hiked up and 1 week down.
The operator and sherpa take care of your safety and well-being
Having established relationships with the Nepalese operator as well as individual Sherpas in Nepal, and familiarity with the mountain trails and mountain conditions in the sub-Everest region, I can deliver the Himalayan trek as clients desire.
Everest Base Camp is located at the foot of the highest peak of the Himalayan mountain range, Mount Everest, at an altitude of 5350 meters. Every year, mountaineers set up the world’s largest mountaineer village of 1,500 to 2,000 yellow tents, with yaks and sherpas bringing equipment and helicopters flying into the mountaineer village. Go on a great adventure! My partner company has two helicopters and the largest logistics network in the Himalayas on the slopes of 8,000-meter mountains, so the service works. Due to lack of acclimatization and other reasons, evacuations are successful and helicopters fly to Everest Base Camp every day, so you can get back quickly if work in Finland is waiting.
A mountaineering village of 1,500 tents at an altitude of over 5,000 meters
Everest Base Camp is located at an altitude of 5350 meters, i.e. 500 meters higher than Mont Blanc and the entire roof of Europe. Without acclimatization, mountain hiking on Himalayan trails in the middle of big mountains is impossible. Come and watch how 1500 mountaineers and sherpas live and prepare in their own mountain village conquered by yellow tents for the conquest of the highest mountain in the world. The atmosphere is palpable when the 7000 meter mountains are around, mountain climbers come and go from the Khumbu Icefall, and tell about their incredible experiences. Fortunately, Everest Base Camp is a safe place from where you can see the block of ice as tall as the Khumbu Icefall.
(I’m adding pictures of Everest Base Camp. You can see them on my Instagram page.)
Unique nature in a national park on the slopes of the Himalayan mountains
During the Everest Base Camp mountain hike in the Himalayas, you get to hike through stunning national park landscapes over numerous mountain rivers along 200-meter long suspension bridges. The paths are thousands of years old, beaten by the hands of the Sherpas, along which the Sherpa highway passes through rugged mountain landscapes over gorges on the slopes of the mountains. However, the paths are wide and you can’t fall off them. If a herd of bulls or yaks comes up against you, then you should retreat.
The culture of the Sherpa mountain people
Not all Nepalese are Sherpas, but those who live at an altitude of 2800 to 5000 meters in the mountains. You get to see the Sherpa culture up close, the life of the indigenous people in the mountain villages. There are no roads in the Himalayas, the Sherpas carry everything on their backs, more than the Jakki oxen. The use of helicopters has become more common in the last 10 years. However, acclimatization cannot be accelerated with helicopters, so you should trek up, you can come down quickly with a helicopter or even run lightly.
On my last trip, I met a sherpa man carrying a typical 30 kg load in sandals, eating soup with the palm of his hand, a US$1000 Garmin smart watch in one hand. Someone must have given it as a gift after summiting Mount Everest. The contrast was quite great, as if the guys were going to time jump 500 years into the future. The Sherpa mother heats the food with firewood and fetches water from the mountain stream in the backyard at the same time as the girls in the family surf the Internet via Wi-Fi on their iPhones. Sherpas live off nature and mountain trekkers.
Namche Bazar at an altitude of 3000 meters
One interesting destination of the trip is the world’s highest city. At Namche Bazar, located on the mountainside, cows roam the city streets among mountain hikers. Here are the last camping shops before Everest Base Camp, if you need to replenish. However, remember that every kilo must be carried on foot, there are no cars.
Namche Bazar is preceded by one of my favorite spots on the hiking trail. A steep climb and long 300m suspension bridges over a mountain river at an altitude of about 200 and 300m. Namche Bazar divides the mountain trekking tour into two parts. Above and below it, the nature is slightly different.

Everest Base Camp trekking is safe
Trekking with a Sherpa to Everest Base Camp at an altitude of 5350 meters and back is safe with me or a Sherpa. However, you shouldn’t set off alone, because in the Himalayas the tree line runs at an altitude of 4,000 meters, above which the weather changes faster, there is no shelter, and there is a risk of getting lost and falling in the dark and fog. In daylight, the 1-3 meter wide path is easy to follow and along the path there are small Sherpa villages every 5 kilometers where you can stay and get food.
In the Himalayas, trekking with a Sherpa is safe up to Everest Base Camp. From there, the dangers and risks of the mountains begin, which you will not go into on this mountain velling trip. Going above Base Camp without a mountain climbing permit will get you in jail in Nepal. However, you can take photos in the area of Colonel Base Camp.
The only danger in mountain trekking is climbing up to Everest Base Camp sick or too fast, in a week. The result is evacuation by helicopter. A basically healthy, normal, fit Finnish middle-aged person can go on a mountain hiking trip with no worries, as long as it takes two weeks to go up. You can come down as fast as you want.
Mount Everest. It’s hard to take good pictures of the highest mountain in the world because it’s so big, 7000m mountains are in front and commercial drones only fly up to 6000m. If you want a good picture, you have to make a day trip from Everest Base Camp and climb the next mountain.

Turnout
The number of participants in the mountain hike is 12 to 25 people.
According to my judgment, if the number of Sherpas and the functionality of the logistics and the hotel capacity allow, then more people can participate in the trip.
I organize a mountain hike if there are 12 participants or more.
If the number of participants is not reached by March 1, 2025, I will pay 100% back by March 15, 2025.
The price includes
- Guidance in the Himalayas
- Accommodation in guesthouses during the Himalayan mountain trek
- Meals in guesthouses during the Himalayan mountain trek

Registration is required

- Basic health, legs and back in good condition

- Good condition, according to my assessment, 20 km with a 5 kg rucksack in 4 hours on the chewing track is enough to climb with good strength to Everest Base Camp. It is more important to be in basic health and the fact that the hike up the mountain takes two weeks instead of one.
Cancellations and upgrades
- Cancellations – in all cases of cancellation I pay 50% back
- Upgrading – the alternative to canceling is to change the trip to a mountain run in the Alps in the same summer.
